I remember the days of having a giant flatbed scanner that took up so much room but only produced mediocre quality scans. Those days have since past and now you can get high-quality scans from portable devices that fit inside your laptop bag or briefcase. You can still get big scanners but for everyday use for the person who works remotely, a portable scanner is a must have.On my iPhone, I use the app Scanner Pro to scan documents straight from the camera. So with the availability of iOS scanner apps, why would someone need a small portable scanner like Avision’s IS25? While Scanner Pro is amazing and perfect for scanning the occasional business card or document, it’s less than ideal for large quantities of documents. So here is my experience. The hardware is a strong 4.5 the documentation is really no more than a 3, the manufacturer has to do some work there for potential customers to be really happy with the overall experience.The exterior of the box and a separate piece of paper in the box make reference to a non-existent software CD. The manufacturer needs to correct that. It's confusing. You don't know if it is missing or not supposed to be there at all. In the enclosed quick start guide, not until page 5 is there reference to the software again which is actually included on the enclosed SD...
